A small rural village surrounded by National Trust land. The village has a small shop and a very good pub / restaurant.  All kinds of walking and rambling can be enjoyed around here taking you through beautiful gentle countryside around the village.

For fishing try the the lakes at Blickling and the Bure Valley Lakes. Close by are the park, woods, lake and gardens of Blickling Hall just 1.50 miles north-west of Aylsham built between 1616 and 1627 and is a masterpiece of Jacobean architecture. Anne Boleyn is believed to have lived in an earlier house on the same site and it is said that her ghost returns by coach on the anniversary of her death.

The market town of Aylsham some three miles away has a colourful market square where lively traders offer a good range of merchandise on market days.  The town also has a small supermarket. On its outskirts is the Bure Valley Railway (15 inch gauge) which runs from Aylsham to Wroxham, passing through 9 miles of glorious countryside. There are many fine properties in and around the area, evidence of the town's wealth in times past.

Wolterton Hall is a fine Georgian country house home to the Walpole family, distant cousins of Nelson on his mother's side, whom he visited regularly. Open to the public on certain occasions.  Up the road is Mannington a 15th century medieval moated manor house.  Here you will find the heritage Rose Gardens with their display of hundreds of different roses.
