Just three miles from the bright lights of Great Yarmouth in Norfolk and Lowestoft in Suffolk is the small seaside village of Hopton-on-Sea.

It sits between the two very well known popular resorts, which makes it an ideal location if you want to enjoy some peace and quite, but still have access to all the facilities that large seaside resorts provide, like theatres cinemas and a huge choice of restaurants and other eating places.

Offshore - Scroby Sands is home to the second largest off shore wind farm in the UK, thirty wind turbines which make a dramatic picture on the horizon. Some folk don't care for them, but to my mind they add a point of interest on an otherwise baron seascape.

Being off shore you can't hear them. Scroby Sands is also home to a seal colony and boat trips out to the colony can be taken from Gt. Yarmouth.

There is a small but pleasant seating area on the coastal cliffs where you can enjoy the view.

The village has a post office and local convenience stores and a surprisingly nice ornamental church.
