Monks Eleigh Suffolk Holidays
A visitors guide to the pretty Suffolk village of Monks Eleigh. You would naturally assume that a village with a name like Monks Eleigh would have once been the home of monks.  However, this is not the case. Although the manor did once belong to the monks of Canterbury, they never resided here.

The attractive church of St. Peter is well worth a visit, with its buttresses and stair tower. The main road follows the meandering River Brett, with Swingleton Green on the opposite side and slightly higher up.

The village has a village shop and post office and local pub/inn The Swan.  Parts of the Swan Inn date back to the 14th century, here you can enjoy a drink or have something to eat. The Swan uses produce in season and their menu reflects this, changing almost daily and is influenced by the fresh ingredients available from their local butcher, fish, or vegetables supplier.
