Direct Banner Adverts get placed randomly on the top of of pages for a fixed fee. SSL do not charge by the impression, or charge for each click (CPC). Usually Banner advertising is paid for on a pay per impression basis called CPM. Normally you pay around £2.50 for every 1000 times your advert is displayed.
