Our recommendation (and we know a bit about this) is to buy a .co.uk domain name. There are a number of reasons for this (one being price) but in short .com is American, .net is service provision, .org is non commercial, and everybody is confused by all the others. If .co.uk is good enough for the BBC its good enough for you.
