| The Broads are Britain's finest
nationally protected wetlands, they cover an area of some 220 square
miles, with over 140 miles of navigable tranquil waterways all
interconnected. The Broad's Authority who ensure that the
landscape and wildlife are protected for current and future generations,
manages this area.
This region is a wonderful place for messing about on boats, popular with fishermen, naturalists and holidaymakers alike. With its rich, rare habitats the area is a refuge for many species of birds and plant life. The Broads also offer many opportunities for walking with over 300km 190 miles of footpaths through attractive and diverse landscape. This is naturally a good area for fishing with bream, eel, perch, pike, rudd and tench on offer. There is also a network of cycle routes with cycle hire points from boatyards and also local shops.
