8th October 2005 We have now finished updating all of our location pages, there are still a few little problems to be ironed out but they now have much more information.

We have added additional geographic information, every location now shows the distance from the sea, and in the next few weeks we will be adding a fact file to every location with even more information about the location and the distance from airports, stations and main locations.

1st October 2005 We have added picture galleries to many of our location pages, you can now browse pictures of a given location and places close by. We wanted to add bigger and better pictures to these pages which is now possible for broadband users, with out spoiling the location pages for modem users. This was the best solution.
21st September 2005 We have added another partner to our websites - The Francis Frith collection is an extensive library of old photographs, and they have a wonderful collection old images of East Anglia. You can view them at your leisure or place an order for prints or framed Photographs. We have a few in our office!

Click on the banner below, or alternatively click on the "Old Pictures" link on any of our locations pages, for old images of a specific area.

11th September 2005 We have begun the process of updating all of our location pages. Its a huge task, but it really did need doing. Theses pages were looking a little tired and old fashioned, because they were designed to be fast for slow modem users (56K) so the pictures were of poor quality to improve speed, but nowadays more that 60% of our visitors use broadband, so we have improved the quality of the content and the number of pictures. (Ed.They should still work quite well for modem users because we have moved all the big pictures to a separate gallery).

Most East Anglian websites ONLY provide advertisements, and have stopped providing general content and local information, but we are different. That's why we have so many sponsors, our sponsors realise that this site provides useful information, and that's why we have so many visitors.

Our visitors expect and want information about East Anglia, what's on, and what to do, and that's why we strive to offer what they want, which includes lots of pictures so that they can see for themselves what a location looks like.

5th September 2005 We have changed our policy with respect to showing telephone numbers for accommodation organisations. We no longer display the telephone numbers of accommodation organisations that don't sponsor (pay for) advertising on our websites.

This change was implemented because many of our existing sponsors have complained that it was unfair to display a telephone number when these organisations were not contributing to the website and thus were not helping to promote the East Anglia.

Our "Monthly Newsletter Email service" has been revised - It is now sent from the Stock Software Email  server to comply with the recent changes implemented by Bristish Telecom (BT are our ISP) to reduce Email abuse. For some time now we have had problems sending out newsletters as they look like SPAM to some email servers, even though every single one we send out has been personally requested by the recipient.

AOL users often miss our newsletters after requesting them, and then complain that they have not received them. This is because AOL block newsletters from legitimate organisations like us, and there seems little we can do about it.. So we apologise if you have not had your newsletter, but please don't blame us, ask your ISP why they blocked it.

10th March 2005

Over the past few days the form used to send us updates and new entries has not been working. This did not effect the messages sent from visitors to establishments, it only effected our sales pages. The fault was due to BT switching off ones of its email servers without informing us. This only effected the online forms and did not effect our normal email. We have learned from experience to have at least four different emails channels, because you never know when one might break. However, we humbly apologise if you have had trouble contacting us in the last few days.

We are now entering our Fifth Year.  2004 was great year for the Angliacoast team, we increased our site coverage to include Suffolk, and added many new interesting articles to our web sites. More and more organisations are sponsoring our sites one way or another, including via our partnership with Active hotels. In 2005 we will endeavor to tidy up some of the older sections of the sites, some pages are looking a little tired (we know how they feel). Nearly all of our sponsors have continued to work with us, and we thank them for thier continued support.
